These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Crucially’s mobile applications and the website at crucially.app (the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Who we are

2. The Services
Crucially is a private social network designed for a small circle of people you choose. You may connect with up to 10 connections (subject to product limits and any subscription or billing rules we may introduce). Content syncs between your devices and your connections through our servers. Features may include posts, comments, media, notifications, and peer-assisted recovery to help restore your data when you change or lose devices.
3. Eligibility
You must be old enough to enter a binding legal agreement in your jurisdiction and not barred from using the Services under applicable law. The Services are not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).
4. Your account
You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Sign-in is provided through third parties (for example, Google or Apple). You must comply with their terms as well.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful.
- Harass, threaten, abuse, or harm others.
- Post or share content that infringes others’ intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Services or our infrastructure.
- Circumvent security, connection limits, or technical restrictions.
- Use the Services to send spam or unsolicited bulk messages.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of content you create. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display your content solely to operate, improve, and provide the Services—including to sync with your connections and to support recovery features as described in our Privacy Policy.
You represent that you have the rights to the content you post and that your content does not violate these Terms or applicable law.
7. Peer backup and recovery
By connecting with others and using Crucially, you understand that recovery-related data may be requested from or routed through your connected peers and our servers to restore your timeline. You consent to this as part of how the product works.
8. Intellectual property
The Crucially name, logos, and branding are owned by us or our licensors. You may not use them without permission except as needed to refer to the app normally.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES, SUPPLIERS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS (US$50), IF APPLICABLE LAW ALLOWS.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your use of the Services, or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we need to protect the Services or others. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law) will survive termination.
13. Changes
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your primary place of residence or, where we elect in writing, another jurisdiction—subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
